Report: Packers 'preparing' to give Pettine job as defensive coordinator

It appears that the Green Bay Packers are nearing the final steps to having their new defensive coordinator to replace Dom Capers.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Packers are "preparing" to nab former Cleveland Browns coach, as well as former Buffalo Bills and New York Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine as their defensive coordinator.

Pettine was fired in Cleveland in 2015, but consistently his more talented defenses in Buffalo and New York were among the league's best.

Each finished in the top 10 between 2009 and 2013.

Following the news of the hire, Greg Matzek was able to catch up with Dustin Fox from 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland on Sports Central.
