The 100th season of Packers football is upon us.

OK, at least the preseason variety.

Just because this game against the Tennessee Titans doesn't count in the standings doesn't mean it isn't important. For it will start the biggest decision-making process of what the 53-man roster will look like when games actually count, with 90 men fighting for those roster spots.

Certainly Aaron Rodgers has as much of a roster spot locked up as anyone, so don't expect much of him tonight if at all.

However, that means an enticing individual personnel battle to watch, that of backup quarterback. Brett Hundley is the incumbent, but the trade the Packers made to get DeShone Kizer has sent a message to the backup who did not perform well in relief of Rodgers after his season-ending shoulder injury.

Injuries may also lead to a number of others partially or completely resting ailments, from David Bakhtiari at left tackle and Muhammad Wilkerson at defensive tackle to young defensive backs Kevin King and first-round pick Jaire Alexander.

Caution may be in abundance. After all, being healthy is usually the first prerequisite for being a Super Bowl contender.

Stay tuned.
