Packers' Geronimo Allison may be out for extended time after 'core injury'

Some bad news is coming for the Packers' skill position core on offense.

According to numerous reports, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said wide receiver Geronimo Allison has a major injury and saw specialist William Meyer in Philadelphia.

On Saturday, Allison was downgraded to doubtful with what was described as a groin injury.

So far this year, Allison has 20 catches for 303 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions.

His immediate backup, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, has 17 receptions for 358 receiving yards and two scores of his own.
