Finalized: Brewers get Gio Gonzalez from Nationals in trade

UPDATE: Two trades for Milwaukee in the final hours before the deadline.  The team completes the trade for Gio Gonzalez and international slot money.  They trade away infielders K.J. Harrison and Gilbert Lara.

ORIGINAL REPORT:

The Brewers have some starting pitching help for the final month of the 2018 season, according to a report.

Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic reports the Brewers will be trading with the Washington Nationals, the team they're playing tonight, for Gio Gonzalez.

A 11-year veteran with Oakland and Washington, he is 7-11 with a 4.57 ERA on one of the worst teams in baseball.

In each of the previous eight seasons, he has won at least 10 games, with a 15-9 record and a 2.96 ERA in 2017.

Jamal Collier of MLB.com says the Brewers are giving up two minor leaguers in the trade.
