Brewers send Arcia down to AAA, pick up catcher Kratz from Yankees in trade

The Milwaukee Brewers have made a series of personnel moves on Friday involving six players, one of whom is a long-regarded piece of their future who has been struggling.

Shortstop Orlando Arcia has been options to AAA Colorado Springs along with pitcher Jorge Lopez.

Infielder Eric Sogard has been moved up from Colorado Springs and pitcher Adrian Houser has been called up from AA Biloxi.

Arcia has struggled this year, with a .194 batting average, .506 OPS, 9 runs scored and 27 hits with 34 strikeouts.

The Brewers also traded with the New York Yankees for catcher Erik Kratz for either cash or a player to be named later.

The team designated catcher Jett Bandy for assignment.

Kratz played four games with the Yankees in 2017. He has eight years of major league experience with the Pirates, Phillies, Blue Jays, Royals and Astros along with New York.
