Suspect in killing of 11 at Pittsburgh synagogue pleads not guilty

The suspect in Pittsburgh synagogue massacre that killed 11 has pleaded not guilty to federal murder, hate crimes charges.

KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh says that Robert Bowers faces 44 counts including 11 of "obstruction of free exercise of religious beliefs resulting in death."

Reporter Andy Sheehan said the suspect looked "unpenitent...perhaps somewhat defiant."
