The number of tornadoes from the August 28 outbreak is now at 17.
The National Weather Service confirming a tornado did touch down east of Brandon around 4 p.m. between County Road M and Highway 26. The confirmation was made after receiving video of it from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office.
The NWS estimates the tornado was on the ground about two-thirds of a mile. It had an estimated top wind speed of 70 miles per hour. It's longest width was 50 yards, or half a football field.
This tornado joins 16 others that formed and caused a wide range of damage and destruction in Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Dodge, Manitowoc, and Sheboygan counties.
