Two men are in custody after leading West Allis Police officers on a high-speed chase that ended in Brookfield early Friday morning.
It started shortly before 3 a.m. when West Allis police officers attempted to stop a stolen Honda CRV near S. 66th St. and W. Beloit Road.
Police say the driver sped away from officers.
Stop sticks were successfully deployed on the vehicle at S. 60th St. and W. Lincoln Avenue, but the driver headed north on 60th Street and turned the vehicle toward an officer deploying stop sticks at Mitchell.
The driver continued to flee on two flat tires and rims, entering I-94 westbound and exiting the freeway at Moorland Road in Brookfield.
A West Allis officer conducted a PIT maneuver, forcing the fleeing vehicle to come to a stop.
Police say the driver again attempted to flee by intentionally reversing into the squad car but was unsuccessful.
Two occupants inside of the vehicle were arrested.
The 21-year-old male driver was taken into custody on probable cause for eluding, operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent, first degree recklessly endangering safety and OWI.
The 22-year-old male passenger was taken into custody on probable cause for operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent and possession of drug paraphernalia.
