Bus crashes on Marquette campus

Rescue crews came to assist at the scene of a crash involving a Milwaukee County Transit System bus.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday outside Johnston Hall at Marquette University, near the corner of North 12th Street and West Wisconsin Avenue.

Three people were injured who were on the bus. Authorities say no one had serious injuries. No one was hurt who was on the sidewalk or street.

The Milwaukee Fire Department said that the bus was on the No. 12 route when it lost control turning from southbound 12th Street onto Wisconsin Avenue going east. It then went onto a sidewalk in front of Johnston Hall.

The crash happened a half mile away from the site of the fire that tore through Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Milwaukee.
