WTMJ Cares: Lung Cancer High Risk Assessment

WTMJ's Week of Hope

620 WTMJ is teaming up with Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Network to provide cancer awareness and resources.

Through this project, spearheaded by Jeff Wagner, we are encouraging people to talk with their doctors about screenings and assessments that are right for them.

If you’re a current or past heavy smoker, you may be at high risk of developing lung cancer.

Froedtert is offering lung cancer high risk assessments on Wednesday, August 17 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

High risk assessments are free to listeners who meet certain age/smoking history criteria established by the U.S. government.
Each assessment takes about 10 minutes with a nurse; if eligible for screening with low-dose CT scan, add a 20 minute appointment with a provider to discuss screening.

These assessments are y appointment only. Space is limited, so call early.

Finding lung cancer at an early and treatable stage is shown to improve survival.

To make an appointment for a cancer screening or assessment during the WTMJ Cares “Week of Hope,” call 414-805-3666 and select option 2. Be sure to mention WTMJ and the Jeff Wagner show.
