Midnight has not struck yet in the Wisconsin Badgers' unexpected run into the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16.
Unexpected, that is, unless you believe their No. 8 seeding was an unfair anomaly.
"It gave them a chip on their shoulder. Great. Keep it," Voice of the Badgers Matt Lepay told WTMJ's Scaffidi and Bilstad Monday.
Lepay said this team is a veteran-laden squad that knows the pressure of the moment, and how to handle it.
"The veteran presence on this team...(they) don't know anything but Sweet 16. You're going to have a lot of close games. You're unlikely to get rattled," he said on Scaffidi and Bilstad.
"This team is good. Of the 10 (straight) down-to-the-wire games (in the NCAA Tournament since 2015), they're 8-2."
As for Florida, Lepay says to expect a lot more low-scoring in Friday night's matchup in New York (about a 9 p.m. CT tipoff).
"I don't know if this is a game that will get a higher score than what we saw Saturday against Villanova," said Lepay.
"All (their) defensive numbers...are a bit comparable to Wisconsin, actually a little bit better."
