A member of a Milwaukee Brewers' minor league team has done in an opponent in one of the most embarrassing fashions - the old hidden ball trick.
Lucas Erceg of the high-A level Carolina Mudcats - a first-year Brewers affiliate - pulled it off against a farmhand of the Houston Astros.
Erceg, a third baseman thought of highly in the Brewers farm system, pulled it off following a double steal by the Buies Creek Astros involving steals of second and third bases.
After the double steal, Erceg motions to the pitcher as if he's throwing the ball back to him. But he doesn't. His right arm moves forward, but the ball doesn't go to the mound. It stays in his glove.
He then waits for the opponent on third to leave the base. He does, and Erceg tags him out.
