It appears the Milwaukee Brewers will not automatically choose to keep Chris Carter as their top power hitter for 2017.
Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports reports that the Brewers have chosen not to tender Carter a contract for next year instead of a probable $9 million to $10 million next season. Jon Heyman of MLB Network confirmed the story.
Carter had 41 home runs and 94 RBI last year for Milwaukee.
As of Monday evening, the Brewers had made no statement officially on this.
