PODCAST: Jaytalking Ep. 23 - MLB All-Star Game, how Cleveland is hosting it & Milwaukee memories

Jaytalking

Welcome to Jaytalking, edition 23!

Today is the 2019 MLB All-Star Game in Cleveland, a city very similar to Milwaukee in both its Midwest location, size, love of sports and its recent renaissance.

Emily Lauer of Destination Cleveland shares the effort Cleveland has made to host the game, and she and I show the connections of the city's similar sports journeys.

Milwaukee has hosted the game three times, in 1955, 1975 and 2002. Wisconsin's Morning News host Gene Mueller dive into "Throwback Tuesday" memories of those contests and the 1977 NBA All-Star Game at the MECCA.

Plus, a bonus! Perhaps the funniest moment in the last 20 years of WTMJ came from our coverage of the 2002 All-Star Game on the Greenhouse, hosted by Mark Reardon with Phil Cianciola's "Greenhouse Puppets." You had one of the first Greg Matzek sightings as well.

As always, tweet me with your comments, show topic ideas and more!
