New book retraces 16 day journey that changed Lincoln's presidency, course of America

For 16 days, the President of the United States took retreat to help understand what to do in the fifth year of the greatest domestic crisis in national history.

Abraham Lincoln came out a changed man, and changed the course of the country.

Author Noah Andre Trudeau went inside those days in his book "Lincoln's Greatest Journey: Sixteen Days that Changed a Presidency, March 24-April 8, 1965."

He described what he found in his chat with John Mercure on WTMJ's "Wisconsin's Afternoon News".
