Trump approval rating the same, disapproval rating grows in Marquette poll

The state's collective thoughts on the performance of President Donald Trump, health care and many other subjects came today in the Marquette Law School poll.

President Trump's approval rating was 41 percent in Wisconsin, the same as it was in March, in the Milwaukee-based law school. The school released its latest political poll, as it has sampled the thoughts of hundreds of citizens across the state.

51 percent expressed disapproval of Trump (four percent more than March), with seven percent having no opinion. 

85 percent of GOP members approved Trump, while only three percent of Democrats gave him approval. 36 percent of independents gave Trump approval, while 52 percent disapproved.

Regional approval ratings for Trump were as follows:
- City of Milwaukee: 14 percent
- Milwaukee area (non-city): 45 percent
- Madison: 30 percent
- Green Bay metro area: 51 percent
- Northwest Wisconsin: 47 percent

37 percent of poll takers believe Trump is cooperating with the investigation on Russian influence in the 2016 Presidential election. 53 percent believe he's interfering with it.

Director Charles Franklin said that there were an equal split of Democrats and Republicans, where in the past, more GOP members had been found taking it (48 percent to 43 percent Democrats).
