Mount Pleasant Police Officer will not be charged in fatal shooting of an 18-year-old

A family from Racine has learned there will be no charges filed against the police officer who shot and killed their son.

Tyrese West, 18, was shot by a Mount Pleasant Police Officer on June 15 when he was riding his bike.

Officers believed West had a gun. Police say Sgt. Eric Giese tried using less lethal force before firing his weapon.

This is a developing story.
