I wanted to find out exactly what my barista is doing every time I order my favorite drink, so I decided to get a first-hand lesson on espresso making from master barista and coffee education director at Anodyne Roasting Company, Wolfgang Schaeffer.
Immediately after standing behind a commercial grade espresso machine, you quickly realize something... you're ill prepared for what you're supposed to be doing. After some training and a couple of walk-throughs courtesy of my instructor, I finally got it down, sort of.
